First Day Of School!

My little boy started school today! He'll be attending a pre-k class a few days a week with his big sister! Ellie has been so excited to show her little brother around the school! Samuel did so well today! He got on the bus, waved bye bye, and even worked to put his seat belt on on his own. My little guy is growing up. It seems like just yesterday, I was holding him in my arms, and today, he's becoming this independent little 3 year old who wants to buy a Thomas book bag for the "school bus school". My Mom and I followed him to school, and it was just darling! He got off the bus, holding his big sister's hand, and marched forward with a purpose. He was so excited to be there! At one point, he looked over and saw me standing there, and said, "That's my Mommy!" Yes, I'm his Mommy, and I'm learning to let him go little by little. For now, I'm looking forward to having him home with me most days. He'll always be my baby boy.

The whole family enjoys the day! Cousins Melanie, Pat, Max, Hannah, and Grandma Tooty were there with us Nana, PaPa, Grandma Plutz, Mommy, Daddy, Ellie, and Sam.

On Saturday, we took a family trip to see Thomas the Train! Sam loves Thomas these days, so we thought we'd take a ride and see how fast he goes! It turns out that Thomas is not quite as fast as Samuel thought he was, but he sure has fun making the noises that all trains make,"whoo whooo...chugga chugga chugga...rumble rumble rumble." Here a few pictures of our fun day!

I'm glad we had you!

My Gram would often say to all of us in our big family, "I'm so glad I have you." Now, I can say, I'm so glad we had her! The photo below was taken on October 23, 2004. The day after Ellie's Birth Day. At the time, my Gram was in the hospital, and not doing so well. She couldn't come to visit our little Eleanor herself, so my Mom brought pictures of our little girl. I remember when I came home with my new daughter, and saw this picture on our kitchen table. I started to weep (emotions were so strong and post pregnancy hormones were kicking in big time), thinking to myself, "What if our little Eleanor never gets to know her Great Grandma?" And now, I'm THANKFUL to say, that our little girl got to know her Great Grandma! For nearly five years, Great Grandma was consistently a part of little Eleanor's life. I'm so glad we were blessed to have my Grams for five more years! Thanks, God, for the gift of Gram's life!
